Kalmar has officially delivered its first fully electric reachstacker to its long-standing partner, Cabooter Group, following a successful six-month testing phase. This electric reachstacker will continue its operations at Cabooter Group’s Greenport Venlo intermodal terminal, situated in the southeast region of the Netherlands.

Cabooter Group, established in 1995, has grown into a prominent global logistics provider and one of Europe’s leading operators of logistics hubs. The company has already experienced the benefits of lower fuel costs and reduced emissions by employing five Kalmar Eco reachstackers at Venlo and their Kaldenkirchen terminal in Germany. In 2019, Cabooter Group signed an agreement to serve as the pilot customer for the Kalmar electric reachstacker during the initial development stage of the product.

During the handover ceremony, Cabooter Group was honored with the Kalmar Eco Hero Award in recognition of its dedication to embracing sustainable electrically powered equipment. Being acknowledged as an Eco Hero designates Cabooter as a sustainability ambassador, inspiring and leading other customers to follow their path by sharing their experiences with operating electrically powered machinery.

The Kalmar electric reachstacker, capable of lifting loads of up to 45 tonnes, enhances the eco-efficiency of cargo-handling operations, while simultaneously enabling customers to maintain optimal levels of productivity and safety. The reachstacker offers a variety of modular battery options and charging solutions to accommodate different requirements.
