Schmidbauer is making a major investment in its lifting fleet with an order for 17 new Liebherr cranes, covering mobile, telescopic crawler, compact and mobile construction crane classes.
The order includes LTM mobile cranes with lifting capacities from 55 to 450 tonnes, LTR telescopic crawler cranes, LTC 1050-3.1 compact cranes, telescopic truck-mounted cranes and an MK 120-5.1E mobile construction crane.
The largest machine in the package is a 450-tonne Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1, which has already been handed over to Schmidbauer and will be based at the company’s headquarters in Gräfelfing near Munich.
The remaining 16 cranes will be delivered in stages and distributed across different Schmidbauer Group locations.
The investment forms part of the company’s long-term fleet renewal strategy, with a focus on modern technology, availability and operational efficiency.
Schmidbauer says the new equipment will strengthen its capabilities across industrial, energy and infrastructure projects, as well as plant construction and large-scale assembly work.
“The continuous renewal of our fleet is a key element in our ability to meet the high demands of our markets,” said Minka St. James, Director of Strategic Development at Schmidbauer. “With state-of-the-art crane technology, we are laying the foundations to continue supporting our customers reliably, safely and efficiently in their projects.”
The LTM 1450-8.1 in particular will expand Schmidbauer’s capacity for heavy-lift and large-scale crane operations.
Schmidbauer said its decision to continue investing in Liebherr equipment was based on the cranes’ technology, quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness and the manufacturer’s sales and service network.
