Sarens has completed the lifting and installation of two 280-tonne steel bridge girders in Bekasi, Indonesia, supporting a new infrastructure project aimed at improving road connectivity across Western Java.
The tandem lifting operation was carried out for DUA PERKASA PRIMA using two crawler cranes: an XCMG XGC400-1 and a Liebherr LR 1350-1 LN.
The XCMG was configured with a 36 m SHB main boom, 12 m superlift radius and 110+40 tonnes of counterweight, while the Liebherr operated with a 36 m LDB main boom, 13 m superlift radius and 85+8 tonnes of counterweight.
Each 280-tonne girder was lifted to an approximate height of 5 metres, with pick-up radii between 16 and 18 metres and final installation radii of around 13 to 14 metres.
Mobilisation of the two cranes required 39 heavy transport loads, with their components delivered to site and assembled within the project schedule.
“The key to the success of this project lay in meticulous technical planning and perfect on-site team coordination,” said Fadil Hasman Mojeres Syarif, Project Manager at Sarens.
He added that the selected crawler crane configuration provided the stability and capacity required to position the girders accurately while managing ground pressure and limited working space.
The new bridge forms part of wider infrastructure development around Bekasi, a major industrial and logistics hub on Java, where improved road capacity is expected to support freight movement and regional connectivity.
