Engineered Rigging introduced the first Officine CLP hydraulic gantry crane to the United States, marking the Italian manufacturer’s entry into the North American heavy lifting market.
Manufactured in Borgo San Dalmazzo, Italy, the CLP LG132 combines a compact footprint with the ability to maintain its full lifting capacity at maximum height. It forms part of CLP’s nine-model LG Series, which has been operating in the European market for 25 years.
“Every model in the CLP LG Series was engineered to maintain its full load capacity at maximum height, a capability that sets these gantries apart,” said Mike Beres, Vice President of Engineered Rigging. “That performance, paired with their state-of-the-art control package and modular design, makes them ideal for the rigorous demands of industrial facilities.”
Designed particularly for operations in confined environments such as data centres, manufacturing plants and warehouses, the LG Series uses a compact two-stage cylinder design. The system maintains rated capacity throughout both stages, while its reduced footprint allows the complete gantry system to be transported on a single trailer.
The LG Series offers lifting capacities ranging from 66 to 441 tons. The LG132 can lift up to 143 tons on four legs or 71.5 tons on two legs, reaching a maximum height of 24.6 feet (7.5 metres). Each leg weighs approximately 6,063 pounds (2,750 kg).
The gantries can be configured with either two or four legs and feature internally routed hydraulic systems, self-contained power packs and hose-free operation. Safety features include electronic overload protection, remote emergency stop, side-shift movement limits and automated levelling to keep the towers synchronised during lifting, lowering and horizontal movement.
Each LG Series gantry is supplied with two LCD radio remote controls providing operators with real-time information on lift height, load weight and system status. Newer models also incorporate accessory recognition and remote diagnostics via cellular or LAN connections.
“When you’re lifting heavy loads in a tight space, the last thing you want is to second guess your equipment,” said Jay Holt, Director of Engineering and Assets at Engineered Rigging. “CLP’s LG Series gives operators the information they need. It’s literally at their fingertips, so they can focus on the lift and not the unknowns.”
The addition of Officine CLP’s range complements Engineered Rigging’s existing Enerpac gantry fleet, expanding its offering to include telescopic boom and bare-cylinder systems with capacities ranging from 40 to 1,178 tons.
