China Cosco Shipping Corporation Ltd. (COSCO) has significantly expanded its Scheuerle SPMT fleet, acquiring a large number of axle lines and Power Pack Units (PPUs) from heavy transport specialist TII Scheuerle, a subsidiary of the TII Group. With this latest delivery, COSCO now operates the largest SPMT fleet in China, further reinforcing its capabilities in heavy logistics and industrial-scale transport.
The newly delivered Scheuerle SPMTs feature axle lines with a 48-tonne load capacity and are equipped with robust polyfill tyres—polyurethane foam-filled tyres designed to withstand high mechanical stress and operate on challenging terrain. COSCO and its subsidiaries will deploy these modules globally across sectors such as offshore construction, infrastructure, and the transport of ultra-heavy components weighing several thousand tonnes.
