Liebherr has unveiled the LTM 1120-4.2, the latest addition to its lineup of mobile cranes, now equipped with the LICCON3 control system. This upgraded version of the LTM 1120-4.1 brings a modernized design and advanced features that enhance performance, safety, and efficiency.
The LTM 1120-4.2 remains the most powerful 4-axle mobile crane, offering a class-leading 66-meter telescopic boom—on par with larger 200-tonne cranes. Its compact design and impressive lifting capacity of 9 tonnes at maximum boom length make it ideal for tasks such as erecting tower cranes and radio masts, particularly on tight construction sites.
The new LICCON3 system provides faster data processing, increased memory, and a seamless user experience, with standard telemetry and fleet management features accessible via the MyLiebherr customer portal. Both the driver’s and crane cabs have been redesigned for greater comfort, with improved displays, advanced climate control, and optimized LED lighting packages.
Additional innovations include the DynamicPerform oil-cooled clutch for smoother, wear-free operation and driver assistance systems to enhance road safety. The VarioBase and VarioBallast systems further improve flexibility and performance on-site, enabling the crane to adapt to space constraints while reducing operational costs.
Liebherr has also prepared the LTM 1120-4.2 for future technologies, such as RemoteDrive, allowing operators to maneuver the crane remotely in confined areas. The upgraded model, set to debut at Bauma in Munich, redefines the possibilities of a compact, high-performance crane.
