Wallenius Wilhelmsen has announced a strategic move to enhance its logistics services by taking over terminal operations at the Port of Gothenburg, Scandinavia’s largest port for vehicle handling. The company aims to transform the terminal into a seamless logistics hub, strengthening its network and fostering sustainable growth.

The Port of Gothenburg serves as a vital gateway connecting the Nordic region with global markets, including the Far East, North America, Africa, Australia, and Northern Europe. Its strategic location, combined with access to rail and road distribution channels, bolsters its position as a critical hub in the global supply chain.

Operating the Gothenburg terminal strengthens our logistics network and is a strategic milestone that supports our vision of sustainable and innovative growth,” said John Felitto, Chief Operating Officer of Logistics Services at Wallenius Wilhelmsen.

The company’s takeover is designed to deliver integrated supply chain solutions and streamline operations for carriers and customers. “It amplifies our operational capabilities in the region and enhances our and the port’s ability to provide seamless and efficient logistics solutions,” Felitto added.

The initiative aims to create a “one-stop-shop” for logistics services, offering enhanced efficiency and expanded distribution options for customers and partners.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen will commence terminal operations at the Port of Gothenburg in February 2026 under a 12-year contract. This collaboration underscores the company’s commitment to driving innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence in logistics.
