A key focus of Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s strategic initiatives is the reduction of onshore logistics emissions through its clean fleet initiative. This commitment involves integrating zero-emission equipment, where feasible, into its operations. Ove Moring, Head of Supplier & Contract Management at Wallenius Wilhelmsen, emphasized the longstanding partnership between the two companies, spanning over three decades. Moring stated, “This new agreement to renew our cargo-handling equipment with fully electric and more eco-efficient machines is an important step supporting our clean fleet initiative in the US. We believe that Kalmar’s heavy equipment offering is the right choice to help us reach our goals.

Svante Alverönn, Vice President of Global Service Solutions at Kalmar, expressed pride in Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s decision to choose Kalmar equipment as part of its fleet renewal program in the US. Alverönn highlighted the order as a clear indication of the growing demand for robust, fully electric equipment capable of handling heavy loads. Additionally, this marks the first sale of Kalmar’s electric reachstacker and heavy electric forklift to a customer in the USA. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to sustainability and innovation in the logistics industry.
