Kito Crosby, renowned for its lifting and securement solutions, has announced that its flagship office building, Cosmo Terrace, in Yamanashi, Japan, has received the prestigious Good Design Award 2024. This honor highlights exceptional achievements in design, selected from over 10,000 annual entries across diverse categories.
The jury praised Cosmo Terrace for its seamless blend of functionality and aesthetics, stating: “The building harmoniously blends with its surroundings while providing an efficient, user-friendly space. Its aesthetic simplicity and attention to detail make it an exemplary piece of modern architecture.”
In addition to its design excellence, Cosmo Terrace is certified as a Net Zero Energy Building (ZEB) by Japan’s Ministry of Environment. It achieves remarkable energy efficiency through innovative measures such as geothermal air conditioning, which circulates groundwater, and solar power generation.
Kito Crosby has a strong history with the Good Design Awards, with previous wins for its Kito LX Lever Hoist (Gold Award, 2003) and Kito CX Chain Hoist (2008).
Jun Akiyama, Senior Manager of Kito Crosby Japan, expressed gratitude, saying: “This recognition is a testament to our ongoing commitment to design excellence and sustainability. We extend our deepest thanks to Takenaka Corporation for their outstanding work in designing and constructing Cosmo Terrace.”
