GAC Group, a major player in the Asia-Pacific shipping, logistics, and marine services market, has acquired the agency business of its former New Zealand partner, Quadrant Pacific. This move strengthens GAC’s long-standing presence in the region and allows GAC New Zealand to directly manage ship agency services across all ports in the country.
Scott Henderson, Managing Director for GAC Australia and New Zealand, expressed enthusiasm about this acquisition, highlighting the integration of Quadrant Pacific’s expertise into GAC’s operations. He emphasized the company’s commitment to providing top-notch service to its customers.
Quadrant Pacific’s Director, Alistair Skingley, noted that the partnership with GAC over the past 16 years has been strong and that this agreement will enable Quadrant Pacific to focus on its core areas of domestic and international shipping, cargo management, and logistics, while ensuring continuity for their customers.
Daniel Nordberg, GAC’s Group Vice President for Asia Pacific & Indian Subcontinent, stated that the acquisition reinforces GAC’s strategic focus on enhancing capabilities and presence in key markets. The integration of Quadrant Pacific’s staff into GAC New Zealand’s operations is set to be completed by 1 July 2024.
