To reduce costly permits and improve transport efficiency, German construction machinery provider Bode Bautechnik has turned to the innovative DOLL low-bed trailer X with tera pendular axles. With a transport height below the critical four-meter limit, even large machines like JCB excavators can now be moved across Germany without requiring special authorizations.

“Transport height is often more critical than weight,” says Michael Schneider, Transport Manager at Bode Bautechnik. “Thanks to DOLL’s excavator trough design, we can position the arm lower and stay within the legal limit.”

The trailer’s wide and deep trough—up to 900 mm wide and 550 mm deep—combined with a 600 mm axle stroke, ensures sufficient ground clearance even on challenging routes such as steep construction site entrances or narrow city streets.

The hydraulically lowerable gooseneck allows near-ground-level front loading, while aluminum rear ramps offer flexibility for smaller machines. An integrated reversing camera and DOLL’s smart electronic systems add further safety and ease of use.

With “DOLL control” and the “DOLL connect” remote, operators like Schneider can monitor and adjust everything from tire pressure to steering angles directly from the cab. “It’s a game changer,” Schneider adds. “I can manage nearly all trailer functions without leaving the truck.”

Bode Bautechnik, active in both machinery sales and specialist civil engineering, also needed flexibility. The DOLL trailer delivers: a sliding support frame and 5.7-meter telescoping bed make transporting long steel beams and sheet piles safe and straightforward.
