CS Wind Portugal, one of the global leaders in wind tower and monopile manufacturing, has once again chosen self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) from TII Scheuerle, a member of the TII Group and a pioneer in heavy-duty transport solutions. The decision reflects the company’s confidence in the exceptional quality of TII Scheuerle’s products and the unmatched support provided by its team of specialists.
As a subsidiary of South Korea’s renewable energy powerhouse, CS Wind Portugal operates at the forefront of the wind energy sector, requiring precision and reliability to meet the demands of the industry. Explaining the renewed collaboration, Ruben Gomes, R&D Manager at CS Wind Portugal, stated: “We have once more chosen the SPMT from TII Scheuerlebecause of its proven product quality and the reliable support provided by the TII Scheuerle specialists. Our industry demands a high degree of precision and reliability. The Scheuerle SPMT, combined with professional training from the manufacturer, equips us to deliver top performance in wind energy projects.”
The newly acquired SPMTs will be deployed at CS Wind Portugal’s Gafanha da Nazaré site to transport critical components of wind turbines. This decision underscores the company’s satisfaction with TII Scheuerle’s products and services, which have consistently exceeded expectations.
The Scheuerle SPMTs play a vital role in the global shift toward renewable energy. Transporting massive components such as rotor blades, wind tower segments, nacelles, monopiles, and power plant modules—each weighing from hundreds to thousands of tonnes—requires unparalleled engineering solutions.
TII Scheuerle’s SPMTs are designed with modularity and flexibility at their core. Their axle lines can be coupled mechanically or electronically, enabling configurations to handle virtually unlimited payloads. The robustness and adaptability of these transporters are evident in their record-breaking performance, holding the world record for the heaviest transport at 23,163 tonnes.
