Challenge Group closed 2024 with impressive achievements, strengthening its reputation in the air cargo industry. Highlights included expanding its fleet to 10 aircraft, completing its 767 conversion program, and operating over 4,000 flights to transport more than 200,000 tons of cargo.

The Group also earned the CEIV Lithium Battery certification, adding to its existing Pharma and Live Animals accreditations. Notable shipments included 5,000 horses, 600 aircraft engines, and over 25,000 e-commerce and dangerous goods. Additionally, the network grew with the introduction of five new destinations: Milan, Dubai, Mumbai, Delhi, and Nairobi.

Building on its success, Challenge Group announced the lease of two Boeing 777-300ERSF freighters from AERCAP, becoming Europe’s first operator of this advanced aircraft type. Dubbed “Big Twins,” these passenger-to-freighter conversions offer increased cargo capacity and enhanced fuel efficiency.

The milestone was celebrated on January 17th at the Group’s Malta Head Office, with Prime Minister Robert Abela and other dignitaries in attendance. Yossi Shoukroun, CEO of Challenge Group, remarked, “This is a historic moment for Challenge Group and Malta’s aviation sector. Registering Europe’s first 777-300ERSF freighters under the 9H AOC demonstrates our commitment to innovation and excellence. These aircraft will strengthen our ability to meet global trade demands and cement our role in the supply chain.”

In 2025, Challenge Group plans to focus on sustainable growth and operational excellence. By consolidating its network and exploring new market opportunities, the Group aims to further solidify its standing as a trusted global air cargo partner, ensuring it remains at the forefront of the industry.
