Volvo CE Unveils Ambitious Lineup at Volvo Days 2024

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and productivity at Volvo Days 2024 in Eskilstuna, Sweden. This event marked the first major showcase since the site became Volvo CE’s corporate headquarters last year.

Volvo CE introduced a range of modernized excavators, including the EC500, EC400, EC230, EC370, EC210, and ECR145 models, all equipped with advanced technology for enhanced performance. They also expanded their electric machine lineup, featuring the first electric wheeled excavator and new battery-electric equipment like the EWR150 Electric and the L90 and L120 Electric wheel loaders.

To support their electric equipment, Volvo CE launched new charging solutions, including the PU40 mobile power unit and the My Equipment digital app, aimed at streamlining the charging process and supporting the broader electric ecosystem.

Melker Jernberg, Head of Volvo CE, emphasized the need for the construction industry to tackle societal challenges with safer, smarter, and more sustainable solutions. He highlighted Volvo CE’s move from isolated products to comprehensive solutions tailored to customer needs, facilitating their decarbonization journey.

Volvo CE unveiled the new A40 articulated hauler and the R60 and R70 rigid haulers, expanding their hauling options. New machines, including the EC500, can also be powered by renewable HVO100, significantly reducing carbon emissions.

Volvo CE showcased the 23-ton EC230 Electric excavator and the cable-connected EW240 Electric MH, among other electric solutions. Carl Slotte, Head of Sales Region Europe, highlighted the progress in electromobility since the first commercial launch in 2019, paving the way for a low-carbon future.

The event underscored Volvo CE’s collaborations with Volvo Financial Services and Volvo Trucks, designed to accelerate innovation and support industry transformation with customized financial offerings and an impressive electric portfolio.
