Kalmar, a subsidiary of Cargotec, has secured a significant deal to supply 12 Kalmar hybrid straddle carriers to Kingston Freeport Terminal Limited (KFTL) in Kingston, Jamaica. These straddle carriers are part of KFTL’s fleet renewal initiative, aimed at enhancing performance and sustainability at the terminal.

KFTL, a key transshipment hub in the Caribbean and a part of Terminal Link, is investing in Kalmar’s eco-efficient technology to increase productivity and reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. These new machines will be connected to Kalmar Insight, a performance management tool, and will come with a comprehensive spare parts package to support maintenance by local technicians. The delivery of all 12 straddle carriers is scheduled for Q2 2024, and the order was included in Cargotec’s 2023 Q3 order intake.
