Trelleborg Wheel Systems has announced the completion of its acquisition by The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. for 2,074 million euros, following last year’s announcement. The newly acquired company will now be known as “Yokohama TWS”. The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., based in Hiratsuka, Japan, is one of the global leaders in the tire industry and other rubber applications, such as conveyor belts, hoses & couplings, and fenders, with revenues of 860.5 billion yen (approximately 6 billion euros) and employing over 28,000 people worldwide, operating in more than 120 countries.

This acquisition will enable The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. to strengthen its position among the world’s tire producers, becoming a global leader in the off-highway tire segment with the addition of Trelleborg, Mitas, Maximo, Cultor brands, and Interfit service network to its portfolio. Paolo Pompei, former President of Trelleborg Wheel Systems and current President and CEO of Yokohama TWS, expressed his pride and gratitude to the TWS team, saying that the acquisition opens a new chapter with a leading player in the tire industry, sharing the same values and vision for the future.

Yokohama TWS will continue to provide high-quality products, solutions, and service to all its customers worldwide, operating with no change to its organizational structure as a new company under Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd.
