Hareket Uses Enerpac Gantry on Turkmenistan Power Plant

Hareket deployed an Enerpac SBL1100 gantry system to install major power generation equipment at a combined cycle power plant under construction near Turkmenistan’s Caspian coast.

The international heavy lifting and project transportation specialist used the gantry to lift and position four gas turbines weighing 293 tonnes each, four gas turbine generators weighing 364 tonnes, two steam turbine generators weighing 285 tonnes and 19 transformers weighing up to 237.7 tonnes.

To meet the varying installation requirements, Hareket configured the SBL1100 in multiple arrangements, including single and double header beam configurations combined with Enerpac’s 250 tonne side shift units. These enabled precise movement of equipment both laterally and longitudinally between storage areas and final installation positions.

For some lifts, the gantry was installed on a 12-metre-high steel support structure to achieve the required installation height. A double header beam configuration fitted with Enerpac strand jacks provided improved positioning accuracy while reducing installation time.

The Enerpac SBL1100 features three-stage lifting cylinders capable of lifting up to 12 metres and handling loads of up to 1,178 tonnes at the first lifting stage. The system also incorporates Intelli-Lift wireless controls, which automatically synchronise lifting and side-shift operations while giving operators a clear view of the load.
