Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has announced plans to close its Rokbak articulated hauler business, citing rising operational costs and ongoing global trade challenges.
Production of Rokbak haulers, including the RA30 and RA40 models, is expected to cease in the second half of 2026, subject to a consultation process. The decision follows sustained financial pressure linked to increasing supply chain costs and external factors such as U.S. tariffs, which have made continued operations unsustainable.
Despite the closure, Volvo CE confirmed it will continue to support Rokbak customers and dealer partners. A dedicated team will remain in place to provide aftermarket services, including spare parts, technical support and training, ensuring continuity throughout the transition and beyond.
Rokbak, formerly Terex Trucks, has more than 40 years of history in producing off-highway articulated haulers. Volvo Group acquired the business in 2014, later launching the Rokbak brand in 2021 following significant investment. The trucks quickly gained a reputation for durability and fuel efficiency across demanding job sites worldwide.
Volvo CE stated it will work closely with employees, unions and government representatives to manage the transition responsibly. The consultation process is expected to conclude by the third quarter of 2026.
The move reflects a strategic shift, with Volvo CE focusing resources on its broader portfolio of hauling solutions while responding to evolving market conditions and cost pressures.
