Jumbo Offshore completes Uaru mooring works

Jumbo Offshore has completed mooring pre installation activities for the Errea Wittu FPSO at the Uaru Field in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana. The works were carried out for ExxonMobil Guyana Ltd. on behalf of MODEC.

The scope included installation of suction anchors and the pre lay of mooring lines in preparation for FPSO hook up. Jumbo Offshore was responsible for installation engineering, procurement, mobilisation and marshalling to support the offshore campaign.

Operations were executed using the company’s J class installation vessel Fairplayer. According to Jumbo Offshore, all activities were performed in line with project specifications and applicable safety standards.

Freek Muurling, project manager at Jumbo Offshore, said the team showed strong commitment throughout engineering, procurement, documentation and planning phases, despite challenging deepwater conditions. He highlighted the resilience of both yard and offshore crews in delivering the mooring line installation safely and successfully. Muurling also underlined the importance of transparent communication between Jumbo, MODEC and ExxonMobil in ensuring efficient project execution.

The Uaru Field is located around 200 kilometres offshore Guyana in water depths of approximately 1,750 metres. The development is estimated to contain more than 800 million barrels of oil.

Once on stream, the Errea Wittu FPSO is expected to produce up to 250,000 barrels of oil per day. The vessel will feature gas treatment capacity of 540 million cubic feet per day, water injection capacity of 350,000 barrels per day, produced water handling capacity of 300,000 barrels per day and storage capacity of two million barrels of crude oil.
