Sarens has partnered with Roy Sheds to support the expansion of its Forrestdale workshop in Perth, installing three new overhead cranes to boost lifting capabilities and operational efficiency. The upgrade will allow the steel shed and workshop manufacturer to handle heavy items such as garage doors, beams, and lintels more safely and quickly, supporting growth in the construction sector.

Due to the restricted workspace and low roof clearance inside the facility, Sarens carried out detailed engineering assessments to plan the installation. The team deployed a 20-tonne Franna Pick & Carry crane equipped with a Spreader Beam, chosen for its ability to operate without outriggers using its telescopic boom and articulated slewing.

Each crane, measuring 11 metres in length and weighing around 6 tonnes, needed to be lifted approximately six metres above ground level. Despite the challenging environment, Sarens completed each assembly in just one hour, ensuring no damage to the structure or equipment.

“Despite the challenges, our team showcased their high level of skill and commitment to customer satisfaction,” said Terrie Dinnison, Sales Manager at Sarens. These new cranes will enable Roy Sheds to take on more large-scale projects and further support development within Australia’s construction industry.”

Sarens continues to strengthen its presence in the region, having contributed to major infrastructure works including Melbourne’s West Gate Tunnel, the Sydney Gateway Bridge, and the Rosehill Steel Arch Bridge installation as part of the Parramatta Light Rail project.
