Taiwan-based SEETEL New Energy has chosen Volvo Penta’s high-performance battery systems to power its new range of mobile fast-charging solutions across the Asia Pacific region. The partnership highlights Volvo Penta’s growing role in the region’s evolving energy market.

SEETEL’s mobile battery energy storage systems (BESS), available in 270kWh and 540kWh configurations, will be mounted on light trucks or deployed as containerized units. Designed for both industrial and urban applications, they will deliver reliable power for sectors such as construction, mining, emergency relief, medical support, and roadside EV charging.

“By combining Volvo Penta’s integration-ready battery systems with our deployment expertise, we can deliver efficient, mobile charging solutions that support cleaner, more flexible energy while helping our customers transition to sustainable operations competitively,” said Lin Sheng-Tse, Chairman and Founder of SEETEL New Energy.

The collaboration was facilitated by Volvo Penta’s long-standing Taiwanese dealer, JOU International, which already supplies backup power gensets to SEETEL. With Volvo Penta’s battery technology, SEETEL is also exploring new business opportunities, including subscription-based mobile charging services for urban EV users in areas with limited charging infrastructure.

Volvo Penta’s liquid-cooled, energy-dense battery systems, based on the Volvo Group’s electromobility platform, are certified for mobility and built for demanding conditions. “Our relationship with SEETEL shows how Volvo Penta can be a trusted partner in enabling customers to bring new energy solutions to market,” said Oh Han Peng, Industrial Sales Director at Volvo Penta.
