Spanish transport company Autónomos Manchegos Agrupados (A.M.A.) has bolstered its fleet with 43 new Mercedes-Benz Actros 1848 LS ProCabins. The official handover took place in front of the iconic windmills of Campo de Criptana – famously immortalised in Don Quijote – under the fitting theme “GIANTS under GIANTS.”
The symbolic location underscored the strength and innovation behind the partnership. Present at the event were A.M.A. owners Zenón, Alberto and José Gregorio Muñoz Abad; Antonio García-Patiño, CEO of Daimler Truck Spain; and Pedro Villanueva, Managing Director of Eje Occidental, official dealer of Mercedes-Benz and FUSO.
“For Mercedes-Benz Trucks, our customers are the real giants – people like the Muñoz Abad brothers,” said García-Patiño.
Zenón Muñoz added, “This fleet renewal is a significant step for us – and Mercedes-Benz Trucks was our clear choice.”
The newly acquired Actros L ProCab models represent a leap in transport efficiency. With aerodynamic design, powerful OM471 engines, and advanced driver-assist technologies, the trucks deliver up to 3% lower fuel consumption, boosting both sustainability and profitability.
Key features include Predictive Power Control (adaptive cruise control using GPS data), Active Brake Assist 6 (enhanced emergency braking for pedestrians and cyclists), Active Sideguard Assist 2 (improved safety during turns), and Active Drive Assist 3 (lane and distance support with emergency stop function).
Drivers will also benefit from the latest Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2, featuring a touchscreen, voice control, and advanced connectivity for enhanced comfort and control.
