Manitowoc has expanded its Grove Hydraulic Crawler (GHC) crane lineup with the introduction of its most powerful model yet—the GHC200. With a 200 USt (160 t) capacity and an impressive 185 ft (56.4 m) main boom, this new telescoping crawler crane is designed for high-capacity lifts in demanding environments, including swampy and mountainous terrain.

The GHC200 made its debut at Manitowoc’s Crane Days event in May at the company’s Shady Grove, Pennsylvania factory.

As jobsite demands increase, so does the need for higher load charts. The GHC200 will help companies secure projects requiring greater lifting capacities,” said JJ Grace, Manitowoc’s product manager for GHC cranes. “It is particularly suited for general construction and renewable energy applications due to its strength and enhanced pick-and-carry capabilities.”

A standout feature of the GHC200 is an additional 90% pinning location on the boom sections, offering greater capacity and flexibility. When configured with the 71.5 ft (21.8 m) manual or hydraulic swingaway extension, the crane achieves a maximum tip height of 265.7 ft (81.0 m). Its out-of-level load charts allow pick-and-carry at full capacity on inclinations up to 4°, with 360° swing capability.

The crane is equipped with main and auxiliary hoists featuring drum rotation and third wrap indicators, using 26 mm wire rope for a maximum permissible single-line pull of 13.5 t (29,765 lbs). Designed for efficiency, the GHC200 can be transported in six to seven loads and offers rapid self-assembly.

Operator comfort is also a priority, with a heated air suspension seat, climate control, and cameras for hoist, rear, and right-side views. A 20-degree tilting cab enhances visibility and ergonomics when working at high angles.
