AAL Marks 30 Years with Growth Focus

AAL Shipping is celebrating its 30th anniversary by reaffirming its commitment to long term growth through continued investment in fleet expansion, workforce development and digital innovation.

The specialist multipurpose and project heavy lift carrier outlined its progress in its newly released 2025 Sustainability Report, highlighting how it has strengthened operations despite ongoing challenges including geopolitical instability, supply chain disruption and economic uncertainty.

A key focus has been the continued expansion of AAL’s third generation Super B Class fleet. Designed to provide greater cargo flexibility, improved fuel efficiency and future fuel adaptability, the vessels form part of the company’s strategy to support increasingly complex project cargo requirements worldwide.

Alongside fleet growth, AAL continued investing in its workforce, which now represents 21 nationalities across its global operations. Training, professional development and employee wellbeing programmes remain central to the company’s long term strategy.

The company has also expanded its use of digital and machine learning technologies to improve vessel performance monitoring, voyage optimisation and fuel efficiency management. These initiatives have contributed to a 19 percent improvement in AAL’s fleet wide Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator since 2023.

In 2025, AAL further strengthened its sustainability reporting by aligning disclosures with Global Reporting Initiative standards and incorporating elements of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards, despite not being subject to mandatory reporting requirements.
