Aprojects Austria GmbH, a member of the Project Logistics Alliance representing Austria, has completed a complex heavy-lift transport operation involving a large piece of mining equipment destined for the United States. The cargo measured approximately 11 metres in length, 3.5 metres in width and weighed 70 tonnes, classifying it as out-of-gauge freight requiring specialist handling.
The operation began at the manufacturer’s facility in Austria, where the equipment was carefully prepared for international transport. Aprojects Austria coordinated the logistics across multiple transport stages, ensuring precise planning and execution throughout the journey.
The scope of the project included road transport from the production site to the port of Bremerhaven, followed by transfer onto a Mafi trailer for port handling. The unit was then securely loaded onto a roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessel for onward shipment to the United States.
