DENZAI has announced the successful completion of its first project in Africa. Its group company, DENZAI International Projects Co., Ltd., carried out heavy lifting work for the Indorama 3 fertilizer plant in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Commissioned by Indorama Eleme Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited (IEFCL), the project was managed on-site by Daewoo E&C Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of Daewoo Engineering & Construction. DENZAI provided detailed technical planning, dispatched crane operators, and leased a 1,350-ton LR11350 crawler crane to support the plant’s construction.

Over a three-month period, the team completed 19 heavy lifts — seven in the Ammonia Area and twelve in the Urea Area — with a total lifted weight of 4,350 tons. The new fertilizer line will feature a 2,300 metric tons per day ammonia unit and a 4,000 metric tons per day urea facility, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and enhancing food security in Nigeria.

We are pleased to have completed our first project in Africa successfully,” said Kohki Uemura, President & CEO of DENZAI K.K. “We hope this fertilizer plant will improve agricultural efficiency and help address the food crisis in Africa.”

Jeong Won Seo, Director of DENZAI International Projects, added, “This project posed both technical and logistical challenges, but our team ensured every lift was performed safely and precisely. We are proud to support this important infrastructure project in Nigeria.”
