Liebherr-MCCtec GmbH, a division of the Liebherr Group with production sites in Austria, Germany, Ireland, and the UK, has once again been awarded the prestigious EcoVadis Gold Medal for sustainable business practices. This marks the fourth consecutive year the company has received this honour, placing it among the top 2% of companies in its industry worldwide and showing further improvement compared to the previous year.

EcoVadis, a leading global sustainability ratings agency, assesses over 150,000 companies each year based on criteria including environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The gold medal is reserved for the top 5% of performers.

In 2024, Liebherr-MCCtec introduced a series of impactful sustainability initiatives. These included the adoption of new technologies aimed at reducing CO₂ emissions across its production plants, the extension of ISO certifications to additional facilities, and the rollout of a comprehensive energy efficiency programme that significantly lowered energy consumption.

The company also strengthened its ethical standards and supply chain practices by launching corporate responsibility risk analyses for its suppliers. Building on these actions, Liebherr-MCCtec developed a decarbonisation roadmap to 2030, based on the reduction potential identified through detailed analysis.

Since 2021, the company has achieved a consistent annual reduction of 10% in locally generated CO₂ emissions, aligning with the targets of the Paris Climate Agreement to limit global warming to below 1.5°C.
