Magazzini Generali Silos Frigoriferi (MGSF), a member of the Klingenberg Group, has placed an order for a Konecranes Gottwald ESP.6 Mobile Harbor Crane to enhance operations and reduce emissions at the Port of Naples. The deal, finalized in Q1 2025, includes delivery and commissioning by Q4 2025.
The new crane will handle diverse project cargo such as paper pulp, steel coils, and large bags. To ensure a smooth integration, Konecranes has provided tailored load curves for MGSF’s existing lifting attachments.
Equipped with a diesel-electric hybrid drive and ultracapacitor technology, the crane recovers up to 125 kW of energy. It also includes an interface for full electrification, aligning with MGSF’s environmental goals and future infrastructure upgrades.
“Quality and reliability are paramount for us,” said Erik Klingenberg, Managing Director of the Klingenberg Group. “This third Konecranes unit will help us improve efficiency while advancing our sustainability agenda.”
The crane also features Konecranes TRUCONNECT remote monitoring, allowing MGSF to track usage, fuel consumption, and emissions through the yourKONECRANES portal.
“This order highlights our key role in enabling sustainable port operations,” said Gino Gherri, Regional Sales Manager at Konecranes. “Our technology supports the latest Italian environmental standards and delivers measurable benefits.”
