Rohr AG, Designwerk Technologies AG, a Volvo Group subsidiary, and Bronto Skylift have developed an aerial work platform based on a fully electric truck chassis. This innovative solution combines Bronto’s proven reliability with the environmental benefits of an emission-free and quiet drive.
Patrick Dörge, Chief Operating Officer of Rohr AG, expressed pride in the collaboration:
“We contributed our expertise in window and façade cleaning directly to the development. After bauma 2025, we’ll be the first company in the world to operate a fully electric truck-mounted aerial platform of this size.”

The platform is built on Bronto Skylift’s trusted S-XR range, specifically the S56XR, known for its reliability in demanding height work. The software has been adapted to an electric PTO, optimizing energy consumption for extended working periods and providing real-time battery status updates.
Dominik Keller, Global Access Segment Director at Bronto Skylift, emphasized the importance of sustainable innovation: “We’re pleased to offer customers an eco-friendly alternative without compromising performance. Rohr AG’s initiative was key in making this product a reality, and we thank Designwerk for their successful collaboration.”

The project aligns with Switzerland’s growing demand for low-emission solutions from service providers. Patrick Dörge noted, “Our customers increasingly expect electric vehicles, and this project demonstrates our leadership in sustainable solutions.”
