Wolffkran has expanded its product portfolio, unveiling the new WOLFF 550 B luffing jib crane, which debuts at this year’s bauma. Designed for infrastructure, industrial, and data center projects, the crane offers lifting strength and flexibility.
“Customers are requesting cranes in the 500-600 mt range, despite economic challenges,” says Mohamed Abouelezz, Head of Business Development and Product Management. “The WOLFF 550 B bridges the gap between our 355 B and 630 B models.”

With an initial 110-kW hoist winch, the 550 B achieves a maximum lifting capacity of 30 tons in two-fall operation and 15 tons in single-fall mode. At its 65-meter maximum jib length, it can lift 5.0 tons. A more powerful hoist winch option, available later this year, will increase lifting capacity to 36 tons in two-fall operation. A US-specific version with a 132-kW winch is also in development.
The crane boasts impressive lifting speeds of up to 200 meters per minute and a hook path of 920 meters (single-fall). With a standard 2.3-meter tower connection, it reaches 52 meters freestanding, or up to 82.2 meters on a 2.9-meter tower. Its compatibility with the KSH 23 internal climbing frame allows for faster and more cost-effective climbing, reducing setup time significantly.
Adding to its versatility, the WOLFF 550 B features the new Flex Cab, which can be mounted on either side of the crane—a practical innovation based on customer feedback. Visitors to Bauma can experience this firsthand, as Wolffkran showcases the model with two cabins.
Orders for the WOLFF 550 B open in June, with availability expected in Europe, the US, and the Middle East by the end of the year.
