Rushlift, a provider of material handling solutions, has been relying on Continental tyres for over a decade, ensuring optimal performance across its extensive fleet of ground support equipment (GSE) at major UK airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, and Birmingham.

A key component of this enduring partnership is the Continental RV20 tyre, which has been the standard fitment for Rushlift’s electric baggage tractors (EBT) for years. Continental’s durable tyres are also fitted to the company’s Push Back Tugs (PBT) and other essential airport equipment, enhancing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

One standout feature of Continental’s tyres is their Tread Wear Indicators (TWI), which allow for tyre recutting—extending service life by an additional six to seven weeks. This crucial innovation helps Rushlift reduce costs and maximise fleet uptime in a demanding industry.

City 1st Tyres, Rushlift’s approved tyre fitter, plays a pivotal role in fleet maintenance. After experiencing frequent tyre failures in the past, Rushlift saw a significant improvement when City 1st Tyres introduced Continental’s high-performance products, tripling service life and reducing overall operational costs.

Stewart Salmon, Regional Operations Manager at Rushlift, praised the partnership: “I have absolute confidence in Continental’s tyres. They’ve exceeded expectations and improved fleet reliability.”
