South Africa-based T3 Projects has expanded its fleet with the acquisition of three Liebherr mobile cranes to meet the demands of its growing construction projects. The purchase includes two rough terrain models, the LRT 1100-2.1 and LRT 1130-2.1, and the LTM 1300-6.3 mobile crane with maximum lifting capacity of 300 tonnes.
“These new cranes represent a significant enhancement to our fleet, enabling us to tackle high-capacity hoisting tasks beyond the capabilities of our current equipment,” said Richard van den Barg, Managing Director at T3 Projects. The company specializes in mining and infrastructure projects across South Africa, Mozambique, DR Congo, Ghana, and Burkina Faso.
Operational in challenging environments, T3 Projects values Liebherr’s reputation for reliability, durability, and advanced safety systems. Donovan Carroll, Operations Director, highlighted the benefits of Liebherr’s remote diagnostics system, which allows technical support without on-site visits, ensuring minimal downtime.
The LRT 1100-2.1 and LRT 1130-2.1 are designed for rough terrain, featuring telescopic booms of 50 and 60 meters, respectively, and advanced VarioBase technology for flexible and safe support configurations. Meanwhile, the LTM 1300-6.3 delivers powerful performance with a 90-meter telescopic boom and modern systems like VarioBase and VarioBallast.
“These cranes save time, resources, and increase efficiency, allowing us to handle larger and more complex projects,” said Carroll.
