Eiffage, through its subsidiary Eiffage Génie Civil Marine, has been awarded a design-build contract worth over €100 million to renovate and expand the container terminal at the Port of Matadi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The contract, granted by Matadi Corridor Terminaux à Conteneurs (MCTC), involves constructing a new 350-meter-long and 30-meter-wide pile dock in front of the existing Docks 5, 6, and 7. Additionally, the project includes three 20-meter-wide access bridges through the existing dock, an operations building, a workshop facility, and the refurbishment of a 7-hectare logistics hub.
Scheduled to be completed over 27 months, the construction will be carried out in phases to ensure the dock remains operational throughout the process.
