Subsea7 has announced that its subsidiary, Seaway7, has been awarded a substantial contract by ScottishPower Renewables for the transport and installation of inter-array cables at the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm. Located approximately 33 kilometers off the east coast of England in the Southern North Sea, the £4 billion East Anglia TWO project aims to deliver up to 960 MW of renewable energy, enough to power nearly one million homes.
This project is part of the larger East Anglia Hub, which encompasses three consented offshore wind farm developments, alongside the operational East Anglia ONE. Together, the hub will contribute a combined capacity of 4,000 MW of renewable energy, significantly advancing the UK’s clean energy goals.
Seaway7’s role includes the engineering, supply, and installation of 64 inter-array cables, with the work being led from the company’s Aberdeen office. Offshore operations are expected to begin in 2027.
“This award builds on our leadership in the UK renewables sector and strengthens our partnership with ScottishPower Renewables,” said Stuart Fitzgerald, CEO of Seaway7. “We are excited to continue supporting the East Anglia Hub with East Anglia TWO, following our work on East Anglia THREE.”
ScottishPower Renewables CEO Charlie Jordan emphasized the significance of securing key supply chain partners following the project’s success in the UK Government’s CfD Allocation Round in September 2024. “With confirmed contracts like this, we’re set to bring another gigawatt of clean, green energy online, benefiting people, communities, and the planet for decades to come,” said Jordan.
