Africa Logistics Network (ALN) has been awarded the title of “Best Network Operating in Africa” during the second edition of the Africa Supply Chain Awards, held in Dakar, Senegal, on Saturday, October 12, 2024. The prestigious event took place in the grand ballroom of the King Fahd Palace Hotel.
To qualify for this award, a logistics network needed to have at least 10 members in Africa and be in operation for a minimum of five years. ALN, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, met these criteria and more. With 82 members across Africa, out of a global total of 220, ALN boasts the largest coverage of the African continent among freight forwarder networks.
The Africa Supply Chain Awards were organized under the high patronage of the President of the Republic of Senegal, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Diakhare Faye, and promoted by the ALM Group.
During the awards ceremony, ALN’s Senegal-based members—Integral Logistix, CVL International, and 2HL—accepted the honor, accompanied by members from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Ivory Coast, including Socodam and Groupe Imana.
“This is a significant recognition for ALN,” said Marcello Saponaro, Chairman of Africa Logistics Network. “My father Alessandro’s vision, in founding a network focused on Africa with its growing community of small and medium-sized, high-quality companies, has proven to be a winning strategy. After 10 years, remaining a leader in this sector is something we are very proud of.”
Saponaro also noted that ALN will mark its 10th anniversary during their annual meeting in Bangkok next November. ALN rotates its meetings annually between Africa and other continents, with the Africa meeting scheduled to return in 2025.
