Drydocks World has signed a contract with Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (ZPMC) to acquire a new 5,000-tonne Floating Sheerleg Crane, aimed at supporting large-scale offshore projects. The deal was signed in Dubai, with top executives from both companies in attendance.
The crane, expected to be operational by mid-2026, will significantly enhance Drydocks World’s heavy-lifting capabilities, crucial for projects like offshore converter platforms and FPSO vessel topsides. Featuring a 160-meter A-frame and a 600-tonne fly jib, it can lift loads up to 5,000 tonnes, reaching 180 meters.

Drydocks World CEO Captain Rado Antolovic called the acquisition transformative, positioning the company for more complex projects. DP World’s Group Chairman, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, highlighted the crane as a strategic investment, reinforcing Drydocks World’s maritime leadership.
