Kito Crosby has launched the Crosby Straightpoint Self Indicating Dynamometer (SID), a cutting-edge solution designed to replace outdated mechanical load measurement devices. The SID, with a 6.5-ton capacity, offers precise load monitoring in close proximity lifting tasks such as operating lever and chain hoists at height or lifting heavy equipment like vehicle motors.
Built with high-grade aircraft-quality aluminium, the SID is 30% lighter than competing products and designed to minimize headroom loss, measuring just 156mm from eye to eye. Its clear 6-digit LCD display provides fast, accurate load readings and includes features like tare, preset tare, peak hold, and an audible overload alarm. With a battery life of 80 hours, it supports continuous use and can connect to a hand-held device for monitoring multiple units simultaneously.
Ideal for applications such as gantry crane operations, engine maintenance, and steel beam fabrication, the SID enhances job site safety and efficiency. Peter Hird, Commercial Director for Crosby Straightpoint, emphasized that the SID builds on the success of their entry-level Bluelink wireless loadcell, providing users with a hands-on, real-time solution for safer lifting operations.
