Drydocks World in Dubai recently hosted a steel cutting ceremony marking the commencement of the Norfolk Vanguard Offshore Wind Platforms project. Jointly undertaken with partners Aker Solutions and Siemens Energy, and in collaboration with RWE, the project involves constructing East and West HVDC Platforms over the next five years.

The Norfolk Vanguard West HVDC Platform, the initial phase of the project, aims to efficiently transmit electrical energy from offshore wind turbines to the mainland. Fabrication activities will be carried out at Drydocks World’s yard throughout the year.
