An eco-friendly residential district, named ‘Parc du Lac,’ is underway near Versailles, France, on historic grounds featuring a 17th-century canal from the Palace of Versailles’ former water supply system. Liebherr tower cranes, including models such as the 340 EC-B 16 and 205 EC-B 10, are actively constructing energy-efficient buildings on ten hectares of land near the ‘Lac de la Sourderie’ lake in Voisins-le-Bretonneux.

Cobat Constructions, the responsible construction company, utilizes seven Liebherr tower cranes with distinctive blue and red paintwork. The project, initiated in April 2021, is set for completion in 2024, providing more than 500 apartments, commercial spaces, and public facilities, including a crèche, community center, and sports center.

The cranes, operational since June 2022, boast hook heights ranging from 40 to 75 meters, with lifting capacities of up to 16 tonnes. The historic canal at the heart of the Parc-du-Lac district is a well-preserved remnant of the Palace of Versailles’ gardens’ water supply system, adding a unique historical touch to this modern residential development, strategically located 25 kilometers from Paris and ten kilometers from Versailles.
