Van Oord has entered into a strategic partnership with Jumbo Offshore for the vital task of transporting and installing transition pieces within the context of the Baltic Eagle offshore wind project, situated in the German Baltic Sea.
Scheduled to commence in October 2023, the project benefits from the synergistic collaboration and extensive expertise of both the Jumbo Offshore and Van Oord project teams, leading to remarkably efficient preparations.
The scope of this contract entails the end-to-end responsibility of Jumbo Offshore in the transportation and installation (T&I) process, encompassing the seamless transfer of transition pieces from the marshalling yard to the designated offshore wind farm site.
Brian Boutkan, Manager Commerce at Jumbo Offshore, highlights their substantial experience, stating, “To date, Jumbo Offshore has successfully transported and installed over 400 transition pieces utilizing our DP2 heavy lift vessels.”
