Varamar, a carrier specializing in breakbulk, dry-bulk, oversized, and containerized cargo, is responding to increasing customer demand in the Caspian and Middle East regions by inaugurating a new branch in İstanbul, Türkiye.
This new office is under the leadership of the recently appointed Managing Director of Varamar İstanbul, Emre Öncü. It follows the establishment of branches in Shanghai, Houston, and Athens, signifying Varamar’s commitment to enhancing its global reach. Emre Öncü brings a wealth of shipping experience to his role, having previously held a senior chartering position at Core Shipping in İstanbul.
The decision to open this branch in September aligns with Varamar’s strategic vision. The company operates semi-liner services connecting Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, all of which encompass the Mediterranean and Black Seas, as well as Türkiye.
Emre Öncü expressed the rationale behind this expansion, stating, “We recognize the increasing potential of Türkiye, as well as the broader Caspian and Middle East regions, and aim to establish a solid foundation for the company’s future growth at the crossroads of the East and West.“
He added, “Varamar has been delivering reliable shipping solutions since its establishment in 2009, and our new İstanbul operation will provide the same comprehensive suite of services, including document support, port operations monitoring, engineering expertise, along with unparalleled cargo handling and customer support.”
