For over 45 years, Cometto has been designing, manufacturing, and distributing electronic steered vehicles across the globe. The latest generation of Cometto’s Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs) sets new standards in the industry with the ability to handle transport jobs of 25,000 tons and beyond.
Cometto’s MSPE self-propelled electronic modular trailers provide a comprehensive system for heavy load transportation, and the new “Standard” and “Heavy Duty” range is on of the most powerful on the market. With unique advantages such as a payload capacity of up to 70 tons per axle line and a bending moment of up to 9,400 kN.m, Cometto’s product manager, Adrian Zingan, highlights some of the key strengths of the range. Additionally, the range is fully compatible with previous models and even self-propelled vehicles from competitors.
The MSPE 48T as Standard & Heavy Duty and MSPE EVO3 70T as Standard & Heavy Duty vehicles can be combined in 2,430 or 3,000 millimetres width and with 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 modular axle lines. Both types come with tubeless tires, a night light kit with LED above each suspension for optimum visibility, and 16-ton lifting rings as standard equipment. The bending moments of 7,800 kN.m for the Standard version and 9,400 kN.m for the Heavy Duty version ensure the highest force and point loads.
The MSPE 48T as Standard & Heavy Duty version has a payload capacity of 48 tons per axle line, making it a strong and versatile system that allows for many different platform configurations suitable for all types of heavy-duty tasks. With a width of up to 3,000 millimetres, it provides the highest stability on the market.
Cometto’s MSPE EVO3 70T as Standard & Heavy Duty version offers the possibility of moving important heavy loads in small areas in every direction with a payload capacity of 70 tons per axle line. Adrian Zingan explains that the patented Cometto Dual-Link suspension offers an optimized force repartition in the suspension structure, allowing for the highest payload per axle line on the market. The axle geometry gives the highest possible precision during load positioning.
Thanks to the suspension and tubeless tire design, it is possible to drive long distances and steep slopes under full payload capacity with a better force spread on the ground. A special electronic control of hydraulic drive motors allows all motors to start precisely at the same time and inching movements down to 5mm/s.
