Mammoet has established Mammoet Japan K.K., strengthening its local heavy lifting and transport capabilities as Japan advances major offshore wind, nuclear, energy and infrastructure projects.
The locally incorporated operating company will provide customers with direct access to Mammoet’s engineered heavy lifting and transport solutions, including super heavy lift ring cranes, specialised transport and high-capacity jacking and skidding systems. Equipment will be mobilised from the company’s global fleet according to individual project requirements.
Mammoet has worked with Japanese companies for more than 30 years. Its activities in the country have included a gantry lifting solution for 1,100-tonne reactor vessels at the Showa Yokkaichi Oil Refinery, engineering studies for the Akita-Noshiro offshore wind development and deployment of its PTC 35 ring crane for a floating offshore wind demonstration project in Fukushima.
The new operation will be led by Representative Director Yusuke Kakinuma, who has more than 20 years of experience in management, heavy lift engineering and project delivery.
