Bay Crane Companies has acquired Clark Rigging & Rental Corporation, expanding its crane, rigging and specialised transport operations across Upstate New York.
The acquisition adds three full-service locations in Lockport, Rochester and Syracuse to Bay Crane’s network, strengthening its presence across Western and Central New York. Clark Rigging provides crane rental, rigging, heavy hauling and specialised lifting services throughout the region.
By combining Clark Rigging’s established local operations with Bay Crane’s crane fleet, specialised rigging equipment, heavy haul assets and engineering capabilities, the companies aim to expand the range and capacity of services available to customers.
The investment comes as Upstate New York experiences growing activity in semiconductor manufacturing, infrastructure and data centre development, including the planned Micron Technology semiconductor campus near Syracuse.
Clark Rigging traces its history to 1954, when Floyd D. Clark founded Niagara Erecting. The company entered the crane services sector in 1960 and subsequently developed into a major lifting and transport provider across Western and Central New York.
Second-generation owner and CEO David Clark will remain with the business as Regional Manager, overseeing operations throughout the region.

The acquisition further expands Bay Crane’s North American network, which provides crane rental, specialised transportation, rigging and heavy hauling services across multiple U.S. markets.
