Liebherr has delivered a new LTM 1400-6.1 mobile crane to the Salgert Group, further strengthening the German company’s heavy lifting capabilities with a modern 450 tonne crane.

Since entering service in April 2026, the six axle crane has already completed a range of demanding lifting operations, demonstrating its flexibility and performance across industrial, infrastructure, energy and heavy lift projects.

Featuring a 70 metre telescopic boom, the LTM 1400-6.1 combines high lifting capacity with efficient setup procedures and a modular boom system. Salgert also equipped the crane with Liebherr’s Y guying system, significantly increasing the telescopic boom’s lifting performance while extending the range of applications.

Company owner Wolfgang Salgert said, “The new LTM 1400-6.1 is the perfect addition to our fleet and opens up further opportunities for us on challenging projects.”

He added, “The crane enables us to cover a wide range of applications whilst offering cost-effective solutions for our customers. With this investment, we are not only strengthening our company but also laying the foundations to support our customers even better in the future.”

The new crane strategically expands Salgert’s fleet into the higher lifting capacity segment, enabling the company to tackle increasingly complex projects while providing customers with greater operational flexibility.

Salgert also highlighted the long-standing relationship with Liebherr. “We have relied on Liebherr for many decades and have always had excellent experiences with their machines,” he said. “For us, Liebherr stands for quality, reliability and innovation. The high quality of the machines, the excellent spare parts supply and our long-standing, trusting partnership have reinforced our decision.”

The family-owned Salgert Group operates 20 Liebherr mobile cranes across four locations in Germany and employs around 50 people.
