National Crane introduced its new NTC80 boom truck at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, presenting a machine designed to deliver greater lifting capacity while maintaining the mobility and efficiency required for daily jobsite operations. Developed as part of the company’s “Big and Bold” approach to product development, the NTC80 responds directly to customer feedback from the field, particularly from operators working in utility, construction and oil and gas sectors.

The boom truck offers a lifting capacity of 80 USt while remaining mounted on a commercial roadable truck chassis, allowing crews to move easily between job sites. According to Bob Ritter, director of product management at Manitowoc, customers have increasingly asked for higher capacity and longer reach without sacrificing maneuverability or productivity. The NTC80 was therefore engineered to balance lifting power with fast setup and reliable transportability.

To support operations that require multiple setups throughout the day, the crane features a trayless modular counterweight system. Counterweight slabs can be stacked in any order and hydraulically removed, enabling crews to configure the crane according to job requirements. Available configurations include a 12,000 lb standard package, an 18,000 lb heavy roadable setup and a 24,000 lb maximum configuration, providing flexibility while maintaining transport efficiency.

The NTC80 is equipped with four position outriggers that provide a 24 ft full span setup. An optional single front outrigger configuration enables operation in confined or congested areas. Reach can be extended with a 37 ft to 61 ft bi fold swing away jib that can be positioned at multiple offsets depending on the lift geometry. Lifting performance is supported by a hoist drum capacity of 22,500 lb and a single line pull of 17,160 lb.

Operator comfort and serviceability were also key considerations. The new cab offers increased interior space, improved visibility and better ergonomics, while multiple ladder access points and dedicated service platforms simplify inspection and maintenance tasks during daily operations.
