Bennett Expands Texas Foreign Trade Zone

Bennett Motor Express, LLC and its BOSS-affiliated companies have strengthened their Gulf Coast logistics footprint with the activation of a 15-acre Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) at their shared facility in Dayton, Texas. The site, located northeast of Houston, now enables Bennett On-Site Services, LLC (BOSS), BOSS Heavy Haul, LLC and Bennett Motor Express to operate from a single, strategically positioned terminal.

The location includes an 80-acre yard, a 10,000-sq-ft office building and 15 acres of activated FTZ space dedicated to customer storage. Freight entering the FTZ is not subject to duties or import taxes until released for domestic use, giving project owners and logistics providers greater financial and scheduling flexibility. The zone is tailored for staging high-value and oversized cargo such as coolers, pipe spools, lithium batteries and other equipment moving inland from the port.

Mark Brewton, General Manager of the Bennett Motor Express Houston Terminal, said the expansion significantly boosts the group’s ability to support complex project logistics. Delivering cargo directly into an FTZ helps EPC contractors and freight forwarders defer tariff costs and better align imports with project timelines.

Bennett Motor Express also works closely with sister company Bennett International Transport, LLC (BIT), allowing affiliated carriers to manage customs processes entirely in-house, from pickup to final closeout, as part of an integrated FTZ logistics solution.

With more than five decades of industry experience, the investment reinforces Bennett’s position in specialized transport, heavy haul, heavy lift and project logistics, particularly across petrochemical, refining and power generation sectors along the Gulf Coast.
