Windcat has signed a contract with Damen Shipyards Group for a new Multi-Purpose Accommodation Support Vessel (MP-ASV), with options for five additional units. The agreement was formalized on 25 November 2025 at the Offshore Energy Conference in Amsterdam. The new vessels, known as the Innovation Series, are designed to support offshore energy operations by combining a large open deck, subsea crane capabilities, and high-quality accommodation for extended missions.

Building on the successful collaboration behind the Elevation Series CSOVs, the MP-ASVs represent an all-new vessel class with expanded capabilities. At 102 m by 20 m, they provide 750 m² of deck space, a 150-tonne subsea crane, and launch and recovery systems for ROV operations.

The Innovation Series places strong emphasis on decarbonisation. A 3,981 kWh battery pack integrated into a DC grid supports peak shaving and fuel efficiency during DP operations. A dual-fuel hydrogen engine allows the auxiliary generator to operate on hydrogen, further reducing emissions.

Designed as a “home away from home,” each vessel can accommodate up to 190 personnel for at least 28 days. Offshore access will be enabled via a motion-compensated gangway capable of maintaining secure connections to structures in challenging conditions.

Enhanced redundancy is ensured by a DP2+ positioning system, adding extra thruster capability for safe operation in remote environments.

Construction of the first vessel will begin in February 2026 at Damen’s Ha Long Shipyard in Vietnam, with delivery scheduled for 2028.
