McDermott and joint venture partner Chiyoda International Corporation have signed a contract amendment with Golden Pass LNG Terminal LLC for the completion of Trains 2 and 3 at the Golden Pass LNG project in Sabine Pass, Texas. The deal follows a November 2024 amendment covering engineering, procurement, and construction for Train 1, and builds on binding terms agreed in June 2025 for the remaining project scope.
Under the updated agreement, McDermott will continue leading the joint venture responsible for constructing three LNG trains, each with a capacity of approximately 6 million tons per annum. The amendment reinforces the partners’ commitment to advancing the large-scale energy infrastructure development safely and efficiently.
“We remain committed to working closely with Golden Pass LNG and Chiyoda to complete this important energy infrastructure project,” said Michael McKelvy, McDermott President and CEO. He added that McDermott will continue applying its technical expertise and expects the project to support significant local employment and training opportunities.
At peak, the construction phase will employ around 9,000 workers, with more than 300 permanent positions once the facility becomes operational.
McDermott, a fully integrated engineering and construction provider to the global energy industry, operates in over 30 countries and employs more than 30,000 people worldwide. The company brings extensive fabrication, marine construction, and project delivery capabilities to major energy developments like Golden Pass LNG.
