Strong Machines, based in Caxias do Sul, has upgraded the control of its two 5-ton cranes—often used together to lift long components—by adopting Tele Radio’s Tiger wireless system. The company required a solution that allowed operators full freedom of movement while ensuring the precision essential for tandem lifts, where even slight misalignment can create dangerous load imbalances.

According to Strong Machines director Markus Grallert, tandem operations demand perfect synchronisation, and wireless control significantly improves monitoring and coordination. Tele Radio’s Tiger technology was selected for its ability to maintain safe parallel crane movement and provide operators with a clear operational overview at all times.

Tele Radio executive director Laercio Neves explained that the Tiger system enhances safety by continuously monitoring limit-switch sensors. If a sensor activates, both cranes stop simultaneously, preventing uneven lifting or sudden load shifts. The two-speed Tiger T11-5 transmitter also allows operators to control movement precisely by adjusting pressure on the buttons, ensuring smooth and accurate handling during complex manoeuvres. In tandem mode, a single transmitter manages both cranes, with operators able to switch between individual and synchronised control as needed.

Installation of the system required minimal changes to existing equipment and was completed without disrupting production. Tele Radio provided on-site training, technical support, and maintains local inventory in Brazil, ensuring rapid access to spare parts.
